Hello. My name is Christian Hunter Boyles, I live in Lincolnton, NC with my mom Christy, my dad Stuart and my pet bearded dragon, Spike. I had a twin brother who died a few months after we were born. I am 11-years-old and I have Epilepsy. Epilepsy is just a scary word that means I have seizures. I started having seizures May 15, 2011. They are very scary and I hate when I have them. My mom and dad took me to Boston Children's Hospital to see a special neurologist who helps kids with epilepsy. He is awesome and so much fun to go and visit. Everyone at the hospital has been very nice to me and they take good care of me everytime I am there so I want to help raise money for other families.
Epilepsy is scary because you never know when you will have a seizure and how bad it will be. I get very frustrated because my medications make me forget things and I have trouble talking sometimes. My friends are really good to me and never make fun of me and they watch out for me at school to make sure I don't have a seizure. I am really lucky to have so many people that love me and pray for me everyday.
I have the coolest race partner in the universe. His name is Kevin Hanna and he is running the race for me and Boston Children's Hospital. The two coolest things about Kevin is that he is a Tarheel Fan and since 2004 he has been trying to run marathons in every state. So far he has run marathons in 49 states and The Boston Marathon in Massachusetts will be his 50-th state. He loves cheesecake so I am going to buy him a huge piece of cheesecake after he is finished.

I'm fundraising for this event because I believe so strongly in all the good things Children's Hospital Boston does for kids. Its patient care programs are unusually sensitive to what sick and injured children and their families really need. Its researchers regularly make amazing discoveries that change children's lives. It welcomes kids whose families can't afford health care-more than any other hospital in Massachusetts. It makes a point of reaching out to local communities to help low-income and at-risk kids. And it really gets the importance of training the next generation of top pediatricians and nurses.
